The Arty Pants pattern includes sizes Age 3-12 years, this pattern is suitable for the ambitious novice as well as more advanced sewers and designed for you to sew on a standard sewing machine. Step-by-step instructions guide you through the entire make and we also explain how to create a professional finish using French Seams.

You can use any cotton or shirting fabrics. Choosing fabrics of a similar weight will make the colour blocking of the main garment easier. However, a mix of textures, patterns and colours will give your garment it’s individual style. This pattern has been especially designed to upcycle men’s shirts, these might be hiding at the back of the wardrobe or discovered at a car boot sale. In the pattern we explore how to make the most of the original garment’s features in your design. The larger sizes will require bigger shirts or you can mix-it-up with off-cuts of fabric from your stash, this could be the perfect scrap busting project for you.
